Its story

7 Boötis is a G-type yellow star some 690 light-years away, a distant spectral sister of the Sun. At magnitude 5.71 it sits beyond the comfortable threshold of the unaided eye, in the broad stage of Boötes. That constellation, marked by the dazzling Arcturus, unfolds its silhouette like a spring kite; on the fainter backdrop, this golden star accompanies the celestial herdsman in his slow turn around the pole.
