Its story

In Centaurus throbs a variable blue B-type star about 820 light-years away. Its light began its voyage around 1206, while Genghis Khan was being proclaimed great khan of the Mongol steppes and a new empire reshaped the map of Eurasia. Its slow pulse and bluish tone reveal an incandescent youth, far hotter than the Sun.
