Its light began its journey around the year 25, when Emperor Tiberius ruled Rome and Jesus of Nazareth was still a young man in Galilee. Intense B-type stars like this one burn their nuclear fuel voraciously and, in exchange for their short lives, give the sky the purest of stellar blues.
