Its story
84 Virginis is an orange K-type giant kindled some 239 light-years away, at the eastern reach of the Maiden. Its atmosphere, several thousand degrees cooler than the Sun's, lends it a tempered amber glow best appreciated through small telescopes. The light crossing Earth's air tonight set out around 1786, the years when Herschel had just discovered Uranus: more than two centuries of travel to return in northern spring.
