At 266 light years in Hydra, this white A-type star shines at magnitude 5.73. Its light set out around 1760, when the Industrial Revolution was dawning in the spinning mills of Lancashire. A-type stars are the ones that paint the sky a cold, almost surgical white, and represent the balance between the bluish fury of the hottest classes and the golden calm of the yellow ones.
