Another white A-class star in Virgo, cool and silent, 483 light-years away. Its light began its journey toward us when Barbary corsairs were prowling the Mediterranean and Philip II s fleet was preparing the Spanish Armada. Nearly five centuries of crossing the void so that tonight, unannounced, it might deposit a white glimmer among the folds of the celestial maiden.

HIP 66247 lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is April: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
