Its story
75 Virginis is a K-type orange star roughly 515 light-years away in the broad realm of the Virgin, one of the largest constellations in the sky. Its warm reddish tone contrasts with the brilliant blue of Spica, her famous neighbour to the south. The light reaching us today set out at the beginning of the sixteenth century, in the years of the first transatlantic voyages —a glow that has crossed space while the world was being redrawn below.
