Its story
71 Virginis lies in Virgo, the largest constellation in the zodiac, near the immense cluster of galaxies that defines that whole region of the spring sky. It is an orange giant 320 light-years away, with the unhurried light of stars that have left core hydrogen burning behind. Its glow does not rival Spica, the constellation's dominant, but belongs to the same landscape and the same luminous silence of mild nights.
