33 Virginis is an orange K-class star about one hundred and fifty light-years away, a fairly moderate distance that lets its warm tone be picked out under dark, clean skies. It belongs to Virgo, one of the largest zodiacal constellations, famed for hosting the Virgo galaxy cluster. Its surface is somewhat cooler than the Sun’s, below five thousand degrees.
