Its story
27 Comae Berenices glows in orange tones 340 light-years away, in Berenice's Hair —that diffuse mist of stars and galaxies that actually shelters the Coma Cluster. Its light, typical of a mature K-type giant, threads through a region famed for the thousands of galaxies crowding the background. What we see today set out around 1685.
