Its story
24 Comae Berenices glows with the orange tone of a K-type star, a mature flame set some four hundred and fifty light-years away. It dwells in Berenice's Hair, a faint constellation famous for the clusters of galaxies looming in its background. Its light set out during the early modern era, when the first printed star charts were beginning to circulate in Europe, and reaches us today as a warm point in a sky region renowned for its stillness.
