hip-57606
Its story
It belongs to Leo, the lion of Greek mythology slain by Heracles in his first labor. Yellow-white in color and of F class, it radiates with a temperature somewhat above the Sun's. Its light set out around 195 years ago, when Faraday was demonstrating electromagnetic induction in London and opening the door to an electrified civilisation. It shines with that quiet stability of F-class stars well settled into their nuclear maturity —one more bead in those that outline the lion's mane and body in the spring sky.
