Its story
69 Leonis crosses the sky within the zodiacal Lion at more than five hundred light-years, so distant that its light set out during the Age of Discovery. It is a white A-class star whose surface runs several thousand degrees hotter than the Sun’s, giving it that cool, clean tone characteristic of the class. Within Flamsteed’s grid for Leo, it sits well into the latter half of the catalogue.
