Its story
53 Leonis is a white A-class star set within the zodiacal Lion, that classical figure that seems to lie along the ecliptic with its mane turned westward. Its light, travelling nearly four hundred years, set out when the first European telescopes were beginning to reveal Jupiter’s moons. It shines with a bluish-white tone typical of young, hot stellar surfaces.
