Hot blue starIts story
In Carina, part of the ancient celestial ship Argo, a blue B-type star burns at about 476 light-years. Its light began its journey around 1550, when Gutenberg s press was already reshaping the circulation of knowledge and European astronomers were preparing the ground for Galileo. Far hotter and brighter than the Sun, it emits an intense bluish-white glow, characteristic of young, short-lived stars.
