Its story

Carina, the keel of the old Argo, holds this white A-type star some two hundred and thirty-seven light years away. Its light began travelling when Europe was barely glimpsing the first steam locomotives, deep in the early industrial revolution. It now crosses a sky whose observers already speak of exoplanets and gravitational waves.
