What is Psi 1 Piscium
Psi-1 Piscium is a beautiful double: two near-twin blue-white A stars separated by 29 arcseconds, wide enough to split with binoculars on a clean night. But there is more: the primary is itself another very tight binary, with two stars orbiting each other every 14.4 years. At 275 light-years, she is a knot of four suns woven into the cord of Pisces.
Where it is and when to see it
Psi 1 Piscium lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is October: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight. How high it climbs above the horizon depends on the latitude you watch from.
