What is HIP 4104
Within Cetus, leaning over the riverbanks of the sky, an orange K-type giant breathes with ancient calm. Its light began its voyage more than five hundred and fifty years ago, when Christopher Columbus had only just begun to dream of the route to the Indies. Cooler than the Sun but immeasurably larger, it evokes those slow dusks when the horizon turns to copper.

HIP 4104 lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is September, when it culminates around midnight.
