Its story

Another white sentinel in Carina, of type A, hotter and more luminous than the Sun. Its light has been travelling some two hundred fifty-three years: it was already on its way when shipyards still launched wooden frigates and electricity was barely a parlour curiosity. It shines with that limpid clarity reminiscent of fresh-fallen snow, a small beacon set into the keel of Argo, the mythic vessel that cartographers later broke apart into several southern constellations.
