Hot blue starIts story
In the hull of Puppis burns a very distant blue B-type beacon, cast more than 1,690 light-years away. Its light began traveling around the year 335, when Constantine was consolidating Christianity in the Roman Empire and Byzantium was becoming its new capital. Its surface comfortably exceeds 10,000 degrees, a blue furnace humming silently behind Sirius.
