Its story
In Puppis, another fragment of the ancient ship Argo scattered across the southern sky, pulses an orange K-class giant whose light set out in the late 18th century, while the Enlightenment was expanding the idea of reason. Cooler than the Sun yet swollen into a beacon many times larger, it shines in honey and copper tones. It is one of those mature stars that have left the comfortable life of youth behind and march toward the end, without drama, in the long silence of the south.
