Variable starIts story
A red giant in the constellation Puppis, whose light has crossed 2091 years of emptiness. When it left her inflamed surface, Julius Caesar was setting foot on the coasts of Britannia and the Roman Republic was about to become an empire. She is variable —her intensity oscillates slowly, a sign of outer layers pulsing to the rhythm of her stellar old age. An M-class, cool and dilated star, she dwarfs the Sun in size though her hue is deeply reddish.
