Its story

11 Puppis is an F-type bright giant in the stern of the ancient ship Argo, some 522 light-years away from Earth. Its atmosphere shows a carbon deficit, a nitrogen excess and an unusually high lithium abundance —chemical fingerprints of an evolved interior whose deep layers have been thoroughly reshuffled. The light arriving here tonight set out when the first telescopes were just beginning to resolve the moons of Jupiter.
