Its story
10 Puppis is a yellow-white F-type star about 1,091 light-years away in the Stern, a fragment of the ancient Argo Navis that Lacaille split apart in the 18th century. Hotter than the Sun and far more luminous to hold its brightness at that range, it sails a southern stretch of sky scattered with open clusters. The light we see tonight set out around the year 935.
