Its story
9 Puppis appears in Puppis, the Stern, fragment of the ancient Argo Navis —Jason's mythic ship— which Lacaille split into three modern constellations. It is a yellow G-type star barely 54 light-years away, a cosmic neighbour of full solar kinship: warm hue, similar temperature, a sister burning at a human pace. The light reaching us today set out around 1972, when Apollo 17 was returning from the Moon.
