Its story
In Canis Minor, the lesser dog that follows Orion, a white A-type star shines at about 455 light-years. Its light began its journey around 1571, the year of the Battle of Lepanto, in the midst of a century of great naval clashes in the Mediterranean. Hotter and brighter than the Sun, its surface approaches 9000 degrees and casts a clean white glow over the silhouette of its small constellation.
