Its story
Within the Lynx, an orange K-type giant casts a warm, steady glow, cooler than the Sun yet much larger in size. Its light has been on its way for more than a thousand years: it began when Al-Sufi was compiling his «Book of Fixed Stars» and Islamic astronomy was preserving the knowledge of the ancient world. Across 1,036 light-years it has crossed the void like a slow flame arriving now, untouched, from the very night when the sky was read in another tongue.
