Its story
6 Lyncis is an orange K-type star 182 light-years away in Lynx, the modern constellation Hevelius named that way because, according to him, lynx-sharp eyes were needed to make out its faint stars. The paradox holds: 6 Lyncis is among the stars that only let themselves be seen under very dark skies. Its orange tone betrays a surface cooler than the Sun's, settled into a more advanced stage of its life.
