Hot blue starIts story
A hot blue star in Puppis, unnamed among the remains of the ancient Argo Navis. Its light set off 547 years ago, in 1479, when the Treaty of Alcáçovas was being signed, dividing Atlantic waters and archipelagos between Castile and Portugal. A B-type many times hotter than the Sun, it spills a raw light that was already sailing before the ships of the ocean age set out.
