Gam-1
Its story
Gamma-1 Volantis shines at one hundred and sixty-two light-years in the Flying Fish, a southern constellation conceived by Dutch navigators who watched, from their ships, fish leaping out of tropical waters. It is a yellow-white F-type star, slightly hotter than the Sun, and forms a visual system with Gamma-2 just a few arcseconds away: a delicate pair in a little-travelled sky.
