Its story
16 Lyncis is a white A-type star 240 light-years away, set within Lynx, the elusive constellation Hevelius named for needing the eyes of a lynx to make it out. With no bright guide stars, observers must hunt patiently for it between the Great Bear and the Charioteer. Its light departed as the slow industrial awakening of the eighteenth century was beginning in Europe.
