Its story
28 Geminorum is an orange K4III giant about 476 light-years away, in the winter sky's Twins. Its radius is more than thirty-eight times the Sun's; its luminosity, almost four hundred times greater. It is also variable: its brightness drifts very slowly, like a cosmic breath. It pulls away from us at nearly fifteen kilometres per second, slipping toward the deep silence of interstellar space.
