Its story
85 Geminorum glows inside the constellation of the Twins, around 374 light-years away from Earth. It is a white A-type star burning near ten thousand degrees, casting the bluish, slightly steely light typical of young Sirius-like suns shining elsewhere. It hangs from the same swathe of winter sky where Castor and Pollux mark, year after year, the two visible heads of the constellation.
