Its story

Within Columba the southern dove —a constellation drawn at the height of the Renaissance— glows an orange K-type star 331 light years away. Its light set out when the Low Countries signed their independence from the Spanish crown in the Peace of Münster. Cooler than the Sun and larger, it radiates an amber gleam suggesting cosmic maturity and rest.
