Hot blue starIts story
In the Dove, the small southern constellation linked to the flood, shines a blue giant, distant and hot. Its light began its journey 1,007 years ago, when Avicenna was writing his Canon of Medicine and the Christian kingdoms of northern Iberia were beginning their slow reconquest. Far hotter than the Sun, its colour recalls ice lit from within, a paradoxical fire that burns without visible heat.
