Its story
Epsilon Monocerotis is a visual double at 122 light-years, in a region poor in bright stars but rich in nebulae: its position guides observers toward the Rosette Nebula. The primary is a blue-white A5 subgiant; the secondary, a seventh-magnitude F5 dwarf set barely 12 arcseconds away. A pair within reach of a modest telescope, where two delicate tones —lemon and vanilla— glow against the dark backdrop of the Unicorn.
