What is HIP 30318

Its light set out around 1797, when Edward Jenner was publishing his first work on smallpox vaccination and European medicine was taking one of its most decisive leaps. Slightly hotter than the Sun, yet less imposing than the hunter's blue giants, this beacon belongs to the quiet chorus that surrounds the great figures of the northern winter.
