The
Its story
Theta Leporis shines with a pure, clean white on the flank of the Hare, an A-type star whose surface comfortably exceeds nine thousand degrees. At 173 light-years away, its light slips between the most famous constellations of the winter sky: Orion, Canis Major, the river Eridanus. Its sharp brilliance belongs to that family of young, fast-burning stars that radiate a characteristic bluish-white, without the warm yellowish tints of older suns.
