In Auriga, the charioteer, neighbour of Capella and the kids. An orange giant burns 789 light-years away: its light departed around 1237, in the years just after Genghis Khan's death, when his heirs were pushing the Mongols toward the gates of central Europe. A mature K, peaceful, almost coppery to the trained eye.

HIP 28562 lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is December: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
