A hot blue variable in the helm of the Charioteer (Auriga), some 1,059 light-years away. Its light departed when the Iberian Christian kingdoms were pushing south in the midst of the Reconquista and the Andalusi caliphates were celebrating their cultural splendour. Each oscillation captured tonight is an echo of that medieval world, intact along the way.
