Cool red starIts story
In Columba —the celestial dove, that small constellation carved south of Lepus— burns a red M-type giant. Its light departed some five hundred and six years ago, in the days when the great masters of the Italian Renaissance —Leonardo, Michelangelo— were vying for the world's domes. Far cooler and vaster than the Sun, it glows with that deep red of embers fading slowly. A veteran star already drawing toward its final chapters.
