Its story
136 Tauri is a white A-type star at the edge of Taurus, the constellation whose Hyades and Pleiades dominate the winter sky. More than four hundred light-years away, its glow travels from the era when Galileo first pointed his spyglass at this same corner of the heavens. What we see today departed while it was still debated whether the Earth turned.
