Rho Tauri belongs to the Hyades, the closest open cluster to the Sun and the V that traces the face of the Bull. It shares origin, age and motion with hundreds of stellar sisters born at the same instant. A white main-sequence star, mildly variable, drifting through space in a slow flock.
