Its story
14 Orionis is a white A-type star 211 light-years away, in the Hunter's northern quadrant. The light that left its atmosphere around 1815 —when astronomy was reeling from the first measured stellar parallaxes and still debating whether stars were suns— is only now reaching Earth, barely perceptible to the unaided eye. One of the many anonymous stars that crowd the shoulders of Orion.
