Its story

In the deep south, within the small clock of Horologium, shines this orange K-type star. Its light set out around 338 years ago, near 1688, when Newton was finalizing his «Principia» and formulating the universal gravitation that tied the apple to the cosmos. Cooler than the Sun yet bulkier, it offers a warm orange tone typical of mature stars. The constellation, dedicated by Lacaille to the instrument that measures time, seems to keep this star like a silent pendulum of the sky.
