Its story
25 Eridani is an orange K-type giant in Eridanus, the celestial river that snakes from Orion's feet down to the edges of the southern sky. At 394 light-years away, its coppery light pulses with the calm of stars that have already left the main sequence. The brightness reaching the pupil tonight left its atmosphere when the telescopes of Galileo and Kepler were about to split classical astronomy in two.
