Its story
Following the winding course of the river Eridanus, that serpentine figure crossing the southern sky, shines a white star of A type. Its light set out one hundred and eighty-six years ago, when daguerreotypes were beginning to fix the human face onto silver plates, around the 1840s. Hotter than the Sun, its cool tone blends into the blue-white typical of its class. It drifts along the celestial current like a glint on dark water, reminding us that the river of the sky never stops flowing.
