Psi
Its story
Psi Fornacis shines at 191 light-years in the constellation of the Furnace, one of the modern regions drawn by Lacaille in his eighteenth-century catalogue of the southern sky. It is an F-type star drifting away from the Sun at 21 km/s, a yellow-white light barely perceptible to the naked eye under dark skies, modest among the stars yet the lead in a corner of the sky devoted to a laboratory instrument.
