Dalim

Nearby starIts story
Dalim shines 46.4 light-years away in the constellation Fornax, one of Lacaille's eighteenth-century inventions. A class-F star, slightly hotter and whiter than the Sun, it is the only truly notable point in a region of sky otherwise dominated by silence. Its proximity makes it a frequent candidate for studies of terrestrial planets around Sun-like stars, a reminder that many stellar neighbours are quiet but not insignificant.
