Its story
78 Pegasi is set within the great constellation of the winged horse, not far from the famous Square of Pegasus that dominates the autumn sky. It is an orange K-type star ageing quietly at just over two hundred and twenty-four light-years, a distance amounting to little more than a whisper in galactic terms. Its golden, steady light set out toward Earth in the days when great sailing ships were crossing the oceans of the eighteenth century.
